Photoshoot RECAP: Katelin in Studio (pt-1)
Before I start, I just want to note that it’s nearly 3am (finished blog at 4am) and I’ve been on a photoshopping addiction for the past 4 hours fueled by 80s pop music. Therefore, be prepared for grammar and spelling mistakes throughout this post…more than the norm that is.
I haven’t shot in studio for quite a while now, desperately wanting to get back in the game, Katelin and I organised a shoot in the studio with help of Chontae for the makeup. Before I get into the details, this shoot will be split into 2 or 3 parts, just because we had several different looks, and I think this one look deserves its on post. And as always, there were too many photos to choose from (always a good thing), so here is one part of the shoot, the other looks from the shoot should be posted within the next week or so. Anyways…continue after the photo to see more pics and read about the shoot.
This photoshoot kind of started with a rickety planning stage. Although Katelin and I had planned the date for the shoot, it wasn’t until this past Sunday that Chontae joined us. I wasn’t able to confirm the studio space until Monday, so everything started a bit last minute to say the least. Furthermore, Katelin wears a weave (don’t ask me, I’m still confused as to what exactly it does), which from what I understood could show in the photos. So in the few days before the shoot, I frantically tried to contact hairstylists with no avail. Chontae mainly focuses on makeup and doesn’t do hair (she wears dreads…). Hence driving to the studio in the morning, I was filled with a bit of uncertainty as to what will come out of the shoot. On top of all this, the weather was lousy: icy, cold, freezing, wet…worst conditions to be driving or walking really.
Having said all that, the shoot couldn’t have gone any better. Once everyone got to the studio, we all connected easily, the music drowned away the worries and the focus was on the donuts/juice/bagel morning breakfast (at least mine focus was), Katelin and Chontae were hard working. Through the shoot, everything went smoothly….all the minor details that I had worried about never came up throughout the shoot. Without further ado, here are some shots with captions.

Love the french nails, have to credit Chontae for the fantastic splash of red.

I don’t see how she can balance with those heels, I’ll post one of the more extreme balance/flexibility testing poses later on.

This style really reminds me of an H&M advert.

Without a hairstylist, Katelin did her own hair and put it up in a simple bun.

Last pose of the day.
Well this is one of the looks…the other looks are coming soon. Watch this space!
