Photoshoot RECAP: Ashly & Jo

Ashly and Jo are the final two modesl from the shoot with Couture Hairstyles.   Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to photograph outside with Ashly and Jo.  With the sun going down and the weather getting colder, Ashly and I just had a brief period outside.   Here are a couple with Ashly.  Both Ashly and Jo’s styling was by Keisha, make up by Renny and hair by Couture Hairstyles.

These ones of Ashly were shot with natural light. Tru helped with fanning to bring some movement to Ashly's hair.

By the time we started with Jo, the sun has already starting setting creating the golden sunlight, which is typically quite pleasent but didn’t really suit Jo’s outfit.  Furthermore, it was getting cold outside.  So we moved on back into the salon to get the shots below.   

These were shot in the salon with all the lights turned off.  I used a Softlighter II as the main light to camera left, up and close.  Tru held an SB800 zoomed in close to camera right and back to get the hair light.

The difficult part of these shots of Jo from a technical point of view was the low ambient light.  I had to keep the light low so that I can completely drop the background with ease, as there is a wall of mirrors about 7 meters behind Jo and lots of props and things near by as well.  Even in the very low ambient light the D2x focused amiably.  The last two were shot with the 85 1.8.   Tack sharp and spot on with focus.  Some more photos to come with this shoot.
