Photoshoot: Brooke-Test (pt-1)

I first met Brooke at the LA Riot Fashion show hosted in the EFN lounge as part of the DC Photo Coop.  Brooke was one of the runway models.  She’s never modelled before and was doing it as part of a favour for her friends.  She’s got a really unique look and most of all..AMAZING hair.   If you’ve been following the posts..you know that i’m a sucker for curls and moving hair.

Recently I haven’t been really testing with new female models as I’m trying to expand my port to include more male models.  But Brooke, I had to shoot.  So we set up a simple shoot.  Brooke brought her own wardrobe and did her own simple makeup and we started shooting.

Hit the link for a couple more pics.

This was also shot at my new home studio against the green wall which I thought worked great with the red.   These shots remind me a little of the iPod adverts…loving the movement.

For a first time model, Brooke did quite an amazing job.  Just to put you into the situation…the above photos were part of the first look we did.   With these shots, Brooke was up against the wall, with a big softbox directly in front of her and a beauty dish high up left.  Also a huge high velocity fan lower right.  Adding on to all this I was standing in front of her with the softbox behind me.  As you notice I was shooting WIDE (between 17 and 23 mm on cropped sensor)….so Brooke essentially literally had the camera in her face.

With these shots, I simply asked Brooke to dance around and move her hair as I snapped away.  A couple more shots with Brooke to come in a following post.

  • I definitely agree; the hair is stunning. Great job in the new studio.
