Photoshoot: Katelin (pt-2)
From the same shoot with Katelin, we tried a couple different looks. The main goal of the shoot was to conduct some clean beauty shots which we both lack in our portfolios. Yvette did the makeup for these as well.
For the other looks in the same shoot (wet hair, jungle)

Clean beauty shots as I understand it are meant to capture the model more than the story. these shots are suppose to show the raw look of the model without all the fluff of heavy colourful make up, without fancy outfits and scenery or crazy backgrounds. Hit the link for more photos.

Clean beauty to me doesn’t seem as exciting as on location editorial or commercial photography. Clean beauty almost limits creativity in someways…no more whacky poses or crazy makeup. But because of this limitation, it is rather difficult to get completely right. Quite a challenge in its own way.

As for lighting, the top two photos used a gridded beauty dish high camera left and a softbox low camera right to create a bit more fill on the model and back ground. The bottom shot was with a beautydish ungridded, pulled back to light the model evenly, the background was lit with the single light shooting bare and flagged to reduce flare on Katelin.
More exciting editorial photos of Katelin to come next.
