Photoshoot: Juelles + Mah (pt-2)
Working with Kim, we decided to do two looks for our shoot. With Juelles clean beauty look out of the way we continued on with my concept. I wanted a frosty chilled winter look with the frosting coming in from the edges of the photograph and only allowing bits of the model to show through completely. I had purchased a couple sheets of glass and glass frosting spray and through trial and error finally came up with a set up that lets just a bit of detail through the frost.

With this concept Kim (MUA) and I worked with Juelles and another model Mah, from Miami who happened to be in the area.

Once we saw both model, I decided to focus on each model’s defining feature and use the frost to highlight the feature. With Juelles and her gorgeous eyes, we upped her eye makeup and kept the lips nude. Mah has a really long fringe which covers most of her eyes, but she has great lips, so we focused on Mah’s lips in her shots.

As for the shooting setup, I was shooting through an 11×14 piece of frosted glass clamped between two autopoles in front of the model. Similar to before, I used a background throw to light up the background and a big softlighter as main. The key was to avoid refelections off the glass itself.
