Photoshoot: Charlie w/ Dana Delaney

Once in a while I would look through model mayhem looking for new models and interesting faces.  This was the case a few weeks back when I came across Charlie’s MM account.   It looked rather simple with a few pics, but from those simple pics,  something caught my eye, she had the expression and the potential.  Fortunately Dana Delaney saw this potential as well and came on board to do a beauty story.

We started with very simple clean beauty looks.   Charlie had very subtle sad somber looks which to me sometimes looked Kiera Knightly-ish and other times as Charlie said herself Emma Watson-ish.   In these couple natural beauty shots, Dana made Charlie’s freckles more prominent which added a really nice touch to the look.  For these couple beauty shots, I used the clamshell lighting technique to get uniform even lighting on Charlie with an octobox up above and a softbox down below and me shooting in between the too.

After the clean beauty looks, we worked on a beauty story focusing solely on Charlie’s eyes, or rather just her left eye.  We cheated a little and used Charlie’s long bangs to cover her eye to really focus on the colour in that one eye.

For these beauty story shots, I used a single octobox to camera far right to give more of a soft shadow over Charlie’s face.  There is a white board to camera right to give a tad bit of soft fill.

All in all a simple clean lovely beauty shoot.   Very light moody over all.  Love it.
